Who we are

PlotHub UG (“PlotHub,” “we,” “us”) operates the PlotHub event-discovery and accommodation marketplace at plothubug.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use PlotHub, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

What we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored only as a salted hash — we cannot recover your original password).
• Profile information you choose to add: profile photo, date of birth, city, interests.
• Booking and payment data: event tickets you buy, stays you book, and the transaction references returned by our payment processor (Flutterwave). We do not store full card numbers or CVVs — those go directly to the payment processor over a secure channel.
• Usage data: pages viewed, items saved or liked, search queries, and approximate device + IP info for fraud-prevention.
• Location only when you explicitly grant permission, used to show events and stays nearby.

Why we use it

• To create and secure your account.
• To process bookings, issue tickets, and send you transactional emails or SMS (booking confirmations, QR tickets, payment receipts).
• To personalise discovery — showing you events and stays you're likely to enjoy.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• To comply with applicable law (tax records, anti-money- laundering checks where required).

Who we share it with

We share the minimum personal data needed to deliver PlotHub:

• Event organisers and property hosts: when you book, the organiser/host receives your name and the booking details so they can admit you or check you in.
• Flutterwave: our payment processor, for charging cards and mobile money.
• SMS and email providers (Africa's Talking, SendGrid) to send notifications you have opted into.
• Cloud-infrastructure providers who host our servers and databases under contract.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

How long we keep it

Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account we erase or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain records (e.g., transaction logs for tax purposes — typically 5 years under Ugandan law).

Your rights

• You can export your data from Profile → Privacy.
• You can delete your account from Profile → Privacy.
• You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
• For any other privacy request, email plothubug26@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

PlotHub is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any change. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect.
